Send Roses to Vietnam from the UK: Real Process & Timing

By the Vietnam Flower Delivery team · 2026-11-06

Sending roses from the UK to Vietnam takes 5–10 days using Hoa Lang Thang, the florist with shops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. You order on WhatsApp in English with a UK time reference; we confirm the Vietnamese phone number and address, arrange payment by international card or bank transfer, source fresh local or imported roses, arrange the bouquet, photograph it in real time, and deliver it the same or next day. We deliver only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City—no other Vietnamese cities. The process avoids middlemen: you speak directly to us, see the actual flowers before they leave our shop, and know exactly when the recipient will get them. Ask us for a quote on WhatsApp; costs vary by rose colour, season and design. Order on WhatsApp +84 969 293 894 | How sending from abroad works

How does cross-border ordering actually work?

When you order from the UK, we work backwards from Vietnam time. You message us on WhatsApp in English with the recipient's full name, Vietnamese mobile number (format: +84 or 0 followed by 9–10 digits), and Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City street address. We confirm we can reach that address, then ask for your card details or bank details for payment. Once paid, we source the roses—red for romance, pink for gratitude, white for respect—arrange them same-day and photograph the finished bouquet in our shop. You approve the photo or request changes. We then deliver it that afternoon or the next morning, depending on traffic and the recipient's availability. The recipient gets flowers and a card message (we translate if you write in English). You stay in control throughout: you see what's being sent before it leaves.

Time zones matter: the UK is 7 hours behind Vietnam. When you wake up in London, Vietnam is already afternoon. If you order mid-morning UK time, we can often arrange flowers the same Vietnam day. Late evening UK orders typically deliver next-day Vietnam time.

What are the delivery address requirements?

The recipient's Vietnamese address must be street-level and reachable by motorbike or car. Apartment blocks work if they have a ground-floor entrance or security desk; we can leave flowers with the desk or call up. Rural addresses, villages outside the city centres, and addresses in provinces we don't serve will be declined—we deliver only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The phone number is critical: it must be a working mobile or landline the recipient answers. Delivery drivers call 10–15 minutes before arrival.

Street names in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are often bilingual (Đường / Street). If you have the Vietnamese address in Vietnamese script, send it as-is; if only in English, we may ask you to check with the recipient or use Google Maps to confirm the Vietnamese spelling. Postcodes are less common in Vietnam, but district and ward names help. Example: "Block A2, Apartment 305, 123 Lê Lợi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam."

Which rose colours suit which occasions?

Occasion | Best colour | Why it works | Avoid ---|---|---|--- Romantic partner, anniversary | Red | Passion, commitment | White (funeral connotations) Mother, mentor, gratitude | Pink | Admiration, grace | Yellow (infidelity) Respect, sympathy, apology | White or cream | Purity, sincerity | Red to strangers (too intimate) Celebration, joy, new beginning | Yellow or orange | Optimism, energy | Black (dead roses) Friendship, encouragement | Coral or peach | Warmth, admiration | Thorns left on (carelessness)

Vietnamese cultural etiquette favours even numbers for gifts (pairs, dozens). Ask us to arrange 12, 24 or 36 stems. Single stems or 13 are uncommon and may confuse. Red is the safest for romantic partners; white is reserved for funerals and death anniversaries. Pink works for mothers on Mother's Day flowers, which falls on 8 March in Vietnam (the same date as International Women's Day). Yellow is safe for friends and colleagues.

The card message is personal. Write it in English and we translate into Vietnamese, or write it yourself in Vietnamese (we will deliver it as-is). Avoid puns or slang that lose meaning in translation. Short, sincere messages work best: "Happy Birthday—thinking of you across the miles" or "Forever grateful for your love and support."

What payment methods work from the UK?

We accept international debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and bank transfers. Card payments are processed securely; we do not store your details. Bank transfers take 1–3 working days to clear, so order early if you need delivery urgently.

Currency is negotiated per quote. Ask us for a price in GBP or your preferred currency. We price in Vietnamese Dong and convert at the day's mid-market rate. There are no hidden fees—we quote the final amount before you pay. Ask us for a quote on WhatsApp and we will be transparent about what's included: the flowers, arrangement, photography, delivery within Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, and the card message.

Payment is due before we begin sourcing flowers.

What happens if the delivery address is wrong or unreachable?

If the address is outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, we decline upfront. If it's inside but the driver cannot find it or the recipient does not answer, we try calling the number up to three times.

We do not leave flowers unattended on doorsteps or with unknown neighbours—roses wilt fast in heat. We will only hand flowers to the recipient or a named contact they've confirmed to us.

To avoid this: confirm the address with the recipient beforehand. If they live in a gated compound, provide the building or block number. If they work and want delivery at the office, confirm the company name and office floor. If they'll be away, arrange a trusted friend or family member to receive the flowers and give us their number as a backup contact.

Check before ordering: Does the recipient have a working Vietnamese mobile? Is the address a real place they actually go to? Can they receive a surprise at that location without embarrassment?

Can I personalise the message card?

Yes. Write your message in English or Vietnamese. We translate English to Vietnamese for free. Keep it short (under 50 words works best). Avoid slang or puns that don't translate. Examples: "Happy 30th Birthday—missing you," "Forever grateful for your kindness," "Congratulations on your new home." If the recipient speaks English, you can request an English card; we'll confirm this with you before delivery.

What if the recipient doesn't like the roses or they arrive damaged?

We photograph every bouquet before delivery. If the photo shows damage (crushed petals, broken stems, brown edges), you can ask us to remake them same-day at no extra cost—we stand by our flowers. Once delivered and accepted by the recipient, the flowers are theirs; wilting over the next 5–7 days is normal in tropical heat. Roses last longest in a cool room out of direct sun, in clean water with flower food.

Do you deliver to military bases or remote worksites?

Only if they're in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City and have a reachable phone number for the recipient. Military bases often have restricted access. Remote worksites (factories, farms, construction sites) may not have secure receiving areas. Contact us with the full address and we'll assess—we won't promise delivery if we can't guarantee it reaches the right person safely.

Can I send roses without a card message?

Yes, but we recommend a message. It personalises the gift and reassures the recipient that it's from someone who cares, not a mistake. A simple "Thinking of you" costs nothing extra and means a lot across the distance.

What's the difference between local and imported roses?

Local Vietnamese roses are fresher (picked that morning or the day before) and last 7–10 days in cool conditions. Imported roses (from Ecuador, Kenya or Thailand) are often larger and fuller blooms but have travelled 2–4 days and may last 5–7 days. We source whichever is freshest that day. Ask us what's available when you order; we'll be honest about origin and expected vase life.
