Lunar New Year Flowers Vietnam from Hong Kong: What to Order

Lunar new year flowers from Hong Kong reach Vietnam through us (Vietnam Flower Delivery by Hoa Lang Thang) in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City in 5–10 days. You order on WhatsApp in English; we confirm the Vietnamese recipient's address and phone number (format: +84 9XX XXX XXX), design the bouquet in lucky colours (red, gold, yellow), send you a photo before delivery, and accept international card or bank transfer payment. Tet flowers mean prosperity, longevity, and renewal—choose chrysanthemums, orchids, or apricot blossoms (traditional), avoid white (funeral colour), and include a short card message in Vietnamese if you want personal touch. We deliver only to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City; other Vietnamese cities are not served. Time zone matters: Hong Kong is one hour ahead, so order by evening to catch same-day confirmation. Why is flower colour so crucial for Lunar New Year in Vietnam?

Red and gold dominate Tet bouquets because they symbolise luck, wealth, and new beginnings in Vietnamese culture. Yellow flowers represent joy and prosperity. White, by contrast, is reserved for funerals and death anniversaries—never include it in Tet arrangements. When you order from Hong Kong, tell us your colour preference; we source local and imported blooms in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City that match Tet tradition. Our designers understand these rules because we work inside Vietnam. A mistake in colour can disappoint a family at their most important holiday, so we ask you to confirm the recipient's preferences before we start arranging.

What flowers actually mean luck and longevity in Tet tradition?

Chrysanthemums (vàng) symbolise joy and longevity in Vietnamese Tet; orchids represent refinement and prosperity; apricot blossoms (hoa mai) are iconic Northern Vietnam Tet flowers; peonies mean wealth and honour. Roses work for any occasion but carry no special Tet meaning. Peach blossoms (hoa đào) are Southern Vietnam's Tet signature. When you order flowers for Lunar New Year, specify which region the recipient lives in—we adjust our selection between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City stock. Avoid chrysanthemums in bunches over five stems; Tet etiquette prefers odd numbers (3, 5, 7) for live flowers, never four (sounds like death in Vietnamese). We follow these rules by default, but confirm on WhatsApp if you have cultural concerns.

How does cross-border ordering work in practice from Hong Kong?

You message us on WhatsApp with the recipient's full Vietnamese address (including ward, district, city), phone number, and delivery date. Time zone: Hong Kong is UTC+8, Vietnam is UTC+7 (one hour behind), so a 9 p.m. Hong Kong order arrives at our desk around 8 p.m. Vietnam time—still same business day. You pay by international credit card or bank transfer; we confirm payment, then design the bouquet and photograph it before our driver delivers. The recipient sees fresh flowers at their door; you receive the photo on WhatsApp as proof. Delivery takes 5–10 days from order date because we coordinate with international payment processors and confirm every detail to avoid misdelivery. We deliver only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City—if the recipient lives elsewhere, we cannot serve them. This honesty prevents disappointment at Tet time.

Aspect	Details	Why it matters at Tet
Payment method	International card or bank transfer	No currency surprises; we quote in your card's home currency

Card message language	English or Vietnamese	Vietnamese messages feel personal to elders; we translate honestly, no flowery embellishment
Recipient phone format	+84 9XX XXX XXX or 09XX XXX XXX	We verify this before driver departs to prevent failed delivery

What designs work best for sending Tet flowers from abroad?

Luxury wrapped bouquets in red and gold silk convey respect and formality—ideal if the recipient is elderly or a business contact. Cheerful mixed arrangements with chrysanthemums and orchids suit family members. Modern vase designs in ceramic pots (the recipient keeps the pot, no return) are practical for small apartments common in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Avoid overly tall arrangements; apartments and Tet altars have limited shelf space. We offer designs in these styles but do not name specific SKUs here; ask us for a quote on WhatsApp and describe the recipient's space and personality. Tet is about renewal, so fresh, clearly visible blooms matter more than exotic rarities. Local chrysanthemums and orchids, arranged on the day of delivery, last longer than imported flowers stressed by cross-border travel.

What should you check before ordering Tet flowers from Hong Kong?

Address verification checklist:

• Full Vietnamese street address (số nhà = house number, đường = street name, phường = ward, quận/huyện = district, thành phố = city).
• Recipient's full phone number in format +84 9XX XXX XXX or 09XX XXX XXX (no spaces).
• Confirm the address is in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City (we serve nowhere else).
• Ask the recipient if they are home on the delivery date; Tet is unpredictable with family visits and holidays.

Flower & design checks:

• Confirm no white flowers (funeral colour in Vietnam).
• Choose odd-numbered stems (3, 5, or 7).
• If recipient is elderly, ask if they prefer apricot blossoms (Northern) or peach blossoms (Southern).
• Specify budget range so we match design to your needs; ask us for a quote on WhatsApp.

Timing:

• Order at least two weeks before Lunar New Year for reliability.
• Confirm delivery date with us in writing on WhatsApp (screenshoot the message).
• Allow 5–10 days for international payment clearing.
• Check Hong Kong and Vietnam holidays; Tet closures affect our availability.

Payment & communication:

• Provide your email address; we send payment invoice and delivery proof photo there.
• Confirm the recipient's card message language (English or Vietnamese); we translate honestly.

How do Tet delivery dates differ between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City?

Lunar New Year is observed on the same date across Vietnam, but customs and flower availability differ. Hanoi (Northern) favours apricot blossoms and prefers warmer gold and deep red. Ho Chi Minh City (Southern) leans toward peach blossoms and brighter reds with yellow accents. Both cities close for the three-day Tet holiday (dates vary yearly; in 2026, check the lunar calendar). We source stock locally in each city, so blooms are fresher and delivery is faster when the recipient lives where we have a shop. If you are sending from Hong Kong to a Hanoi recipient, you are supporting our Hanoi operations; same for Ho Chi Minh City. This matters because Tet supply is tight—local sourcing means we don't compete with other florists for limited imports.

Which collection best suits a first-time Tet sender from Hong Kong?

Our Tet collection is the obvious choice—every design already respects lucky colours and meanings. If the recipient is a mother or female elder, Women's Day flowers also work well in March, but Tet is separate; order Tet-specific designs now. For business contacts or colleagues, explore our business and opening flowers if you want something polished but less ceremonial. For a young person or friend abroad (sending back to Vietnam), a cheerful mixed bouquet in our general fresh flower delivery section is warm and personal. Birthday flowers serve if Tet coincides with a birth date, but pair them with Tet wishes to feel authentic. Ask us on WhatsApp which design matches your relationship and budget; we are here to help.

FAQ

Can I order Lunar New Year flowers from Hong Kong to a city outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City?

No. We deliver only to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. If the recipient lives elsewhere in Vietnam, we cannot serve them, and we will tell you so honestly on WhatsApp rather than take payment for a delivery we cannot fulfil. Please confirm the city before ordering.

What time of day should I order from Hong Kong to avoid delays?

Order by 6 p.m. Hong Kong time (5 p.m. Vietnam time) for same-business-day confirmation. After that, your order queues for the next morning in Vietnam. International payment clearing may add 1–2 days, so order 2 weeks before Tet for certainty.

Can I include a card message in Vietnamese if I don't speak the language?

Yes. Write your message in English on WhatsApp, and we translate it honestly. We avoid flowery or embellished translations; we keep your meaning clear. Provide the message when you order so we have time to translate and print it before delivery.

What happens if the recipient is not home on delivery day during Tet?

Our driver will attempt delivery once. If no one is home, we contact the recipient's phone number to reschedule or leave the flowers with a trusted neighbour (at recipient's instruction). Confirm the recipient knows the delivery is coming; Tet is chaotic with family visits.

How do I pay if I don't have a Vietnamese bank account?

We accept international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and international bank transfers. Ask us for a quote on WhatsApp; we provide payment details and a unique invoice number. Payment in your home currency is simple; no surprise fees.
